The Spring Fling is the annual HDCMS gala event.  It takes place every spring and includes a Silent Auction of over 100 items from Dupont Circle Businesses.  This event serves two very important purposes.  It raises funds for the general operations of HDCMS and for capital improvements in the Dupont Circle Commercial District.  The Washington Hilton and Towers Hotel is the very important sponsor for this event. HDCMS has held this event three years in a row and has raised $44,000.  Half of the funds raised have gone toward beatification projects.  The HDCMS tree box grant program and significant funds for improvements to the Connecticut Avenue Median were raised at the Spring Fling.  In 2007, HDCMS replaced all of the Dupont Circle Street Pole banners with funds raised at the Spring Fling.
