Promotion

Promotion means selling the image and promise of Main Street to all prospects. By marketing Dupont's unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, and visitors, an effective promotion strategy forges a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity, and special events.

Committee Events and Work Plan Items

Taste of Dupont - an annual event that showcases the fine food and fine art of Dupont Circle.

Dupont Circulator - a free monthly social event for Dupont Circle residents and business people.  This event is sponsored by a different neighborhood restaurant, hotel or bar every month.  These events also often have a retail sponsor who sets up a merchandise table.

Dupont Circle Wine Club - The wine club meets three or four times a year at a local restaurant to discuss wine and sample fine foods.  This is a ticketed event whose proceeds go to support the Main Streets program.

Spring Fling & Silent Auction - This is the annual HDCMS gala event.  It is a ticketed event with a silent auction.  Proceeds go to support the HDCMS program and to beautification projects in the Commercial District.

Dupont-Kalorama Museums Consortium partnership - HDCMS seeks to better partner the business community with neighborhood institutions.  HDCMS aids in marketing the DKMC's annual Museum Walk and Open House in early June.
