Dupont Main Streets Board of Directors meets on the last Tuesday of each month at the Hilton Hotel on Connecticut Avenue. Meetings are open to the public.
In addition, each of our four Committees meet on a monthly basis in various locations:
Economic Enhancement Committee:
Identifies local business needs and assists local businesses with workshops, efficiency, design, cost savings, and hands on consultation aimed to retain existing and attract a new and diverse mix of locally owned business types along our myriad commercial corridors. Examples include workshops on social media, web advertising, and gift cards, and a quarterly report on rental opportunities along the commercial corridors.
Design Committee:
Enhances the appearance of our commercial corridors, assists in the rehabilitation and research of our historic structures, improves streetscapes, tree boxes, and public spaces, and takes advantage of our physical assets and improves upon them with good design. Examples include the establishment of the Dupont Clean Team in 2008, landscaping of the Conn Ave median and Triangle Park (scheduled to begin any day), and a current branding project.
Promotion Committee:
Promotes Dupont Circle businesses of all types with innovative and creative ad campaigns and specialized events and activities that showcase the community and attract visitors and locals alike to its many commercial corridors. Examples include the semi-annual Taste of Dupont, High Heel Race, Classic Car Shows, and support of the Dupont Festival activities in the Dupont Park itself.
Organization Committee:
Focuses the work of the organization, maintains operation efficiency, recruits interns, Board members and volunteers and develops fundraising strategies and campaigns.
