Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets
Design

The Design Committee is focused on enhancing the appearance of our commercial corridors, preserving and rehabilitating historic structures and buildings, improving streetscapes, taking advantage of our assets and improving them with good design.

Committee Events and Work Plan Projects

Tree Box Grant Program - HDCMS has appropriated $6,000 from the 2006 Spring Fling for merchants and commercial property owners to invest in iron tree box borders around the trees abutting their properties.  Congratulations to La Tomate and The Leather Rack for being the first Dupont Circle businesses to participate.

Graffiti Control SWAT Team - In the afternoon of the Second Thursday of every month HDCMS volunteers hit the streets of Dupont Circle to remove graffiti from the commercial corridors.  More volunteers are always welcome so please contact the HDCMS Executive Director.  If you are a commercial property owner in Dupont Circle and would like the HDCMS SWAT Team to remove graffiti from your building please fill out the below liability waiver and return it to HDCMS.

Snow Business - This is the annual Dupont Circle holiday display competition.  HDCMS encourages businesses to get ready for the holiday season early, in October, so that HDCMS can market the commercial district to coincide with the holidays!

Triangle Park Improvements - The HDCMS Design Committee is working very closely with the National Park Service to improve the design elements of the triangle park bordered by Q Street, Connecticut Avenue and 20th Street.

Dupont Circle Main Streets Flickr Group photoblog - The design committee maintains a photoblog with Flick where people can share their photos of the Dupont Circle neighborhood.
