EXISTING CONDITIONS DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED BY DDOT AND RHODESIDE & HARWELL

02/02/08 - THIRD STREETSCAPE PLANNING MEETING

DDOT in consultation with Rhodeside and Harwell held an open house on Saturday, February 2nd.  The following documents were reviewed by the Dupont Circle community.

01/16/08 - DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED BY RHODESIDE AND HARWELL

12/06/07 - INITIAL DESIGN CONCEPTS PRESENTED BY RHODESIDE AND HARWELL

10/22/07 -   The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) began the Design Phase of a 17th Street Streetscape Project.  The project covers 17th Street from Massachusetts Avenue to New Hampshire Avenue, NW.

The 17th Street project will resurface the street, sidewalks, curbs and gutters.  The Dupont Circle community has the opportunity to address the look of the 17th Street corridor by addressing the materials used and by our choice of “street furniture” (utility poles, benches, garbage cans, PLANTERS, etc), streetlights and street trees.  We will also work on pedestrian safety, traffic, parking and compliance with the Americans with Disability Act.  T

DDOT hopes to launch the construction phase project in the fall of 2008.  The timeline for the project includes:

 1)     Three initial community meetings before the end of January 2008 to create a concept design

 2)     A meeting during the Design Development phase, between February and April

 3)     Construction documents between May and July, with an information/community discussion regarding the construction phase in approximately June, 2008.
